Established as PT BNI AMEX Leasing on April 8, 1983. A collaboration between PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) (Persero) Tbk and American Express Leasing Corporation (AMEX).
1994
PT BNI Tbk acquired all shares of American Express Leasing Corporation (AMEX) in PT BNI Amex Leasing, making BNI the sole shareholder and renaming the company to Swardharma Multi Finance
1995
PT Swardharma Multi Finance officially changed its name to PT BNI Multifinance to comply with the provisions of Public Company Law No. 1 of 1995. PT BNI Tbk sold a portion of its shares (0.02%) to the Employees' Cooperative of BNI Multifinance.
1996
PT BNI Tbk, together with the Employees' Cooperative of PT BNI Multifinance as shareholders, increased the authorized capital to Rp500 billion and paid-up capital to Rp200 billion.
2007
PT BNI Tbk, with the Employees' Cooperative of PT BNI Multifinance, increased the paid-up capital to Rp408,357,378,000 or 81.67% of the authorized capital.
2008
The company underwent a quasi-reorganization legally, reducing the nominal value of shares from Rp1,000 to Rp50 per share. After the reorganization, the authorized and paid-up capitals were adjusted to Rp25 billion and Rp20,417,868,900 respectively, with the total number of shares remaining unchanged.
2013
In February, PT BNI Multifinance received a subordinate loan from PT BNI Tbk amounting to Rp75 billion, which was converted into additional capital in June 2013, increasing PT BNI Tbk's paid-up capital to Rp95,413,985,350 and the Employees' Cooperative of PT BNI Multifinance to Rp18,151,550.
2016
On June 23, the Shareholders approved the issuance of 4,060,000,000 shares with a nominal value of Rp50 per share, totalling Rp203 billion, fully subscribed by PT BNI Tbk and contributed to the company's cash, thereby increasing the paid-up capital to Rp298,432,136,900.
2022
The initial phase of BNI finance's transformation was marked by management changes, especially in the composition of the Board of Commissioners and Directors.
2023
BNI finance focuses on financing new cars and opened 30 branches in major cities across Indonesia. BNI finance received a capital injection from Bank BNI totalling Rp800 billion in two phases: Rp400 billion in August and another Rp400 billion in December.
